You’ve all heard the clichés. Running a business is a marathon, not a sprint.
“Either you run the day, or the day runs you.” – Jim Rohn
“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” Will Rogers
TNT president Jeff Gaura has a unique understanding of these quotes, though; gained from over a decade of running a business, and running and cycling in an Olympic level sport for the past several years.
Jeff Gaura is excited to share the lessons he’s learned at the inaugural luncheon of the Young Professionals Union County, January 13th 2016 from 11:30AM-1:00PM at the Union County Chamber of Commerce, 903 Skyway Dr. Monroe, NC 28110.
At the last National Championship, Jeff ranked 9th in his category of Duathlon (an Olympic-level running and cycling competition). Earlier in the year, he also earned the title of King of the Mountain as the fastest hill climber for men 50 and over. He runs ultra-marathons (50k through 100 miles and recently earned 4th overall at the Hanging Rock to Pilot Mountain ultra marathon when he ran 50K on trails in 5 and a half hours. It took a huge amount of confidence, discipline, coaching and brutal feedback for Jeff to compete at this elite level. But in 3 years, he went from cycling for fun to competing in the ITU Duathlon World Championships twice as a member of TeamUSA in Duathlon.
In an engaging, poignant, and challenging talk, Jeff will share how the same skills needed to compete at the elite level are the same as the skills needed to run and grow a successful business. Join the Young Professionals of the Union County Chamber of Commerce January 13th from 11:30AM-1:00PM
